William Martin

Equine Consultant

William was born in Alvin, Texas in 1962. In his youth, he traveled from coast to coast, first winning in the Junior Jumpers but moving quickly through the ranks under the tutelage of greats such as Rodney Jenkins. By age 16, William had won the Ocala Grand Prix. At age 17, William set the indoor record at the prestigious Washington International Horse Show. By age 26, he had won over 30 Grands Prix. â€‹

Making these accomplishments even more impressive is that many were achieved on an off-track Thoroughbred, found by William's father. William developed and rode "Hole In One" from Junior Hunters to Grands Prix. The relationship with "Hole In One" nurtured his love of working with young horses.

For the past 40 years, William has been very successful buying and selling horses. He began his success in this part of the industry in Texas. In 2001, William met his future wife, Samantha, in California. They since married and relocated to Santa Barbara, where they operate a very successful stables and sales business.

A long career in the horse industry has given Willaim a depth of knowledge in the industry and he is looking forward to dedicating more of that time and knowledge to Woodway Equestrian.
