Growing up in Sweeney, Texas, Kristin's life long love of horses began on her father's farm, where she spent her youth learning to care for animals and family time meant week-long camping trips and trail rides. Through high school, she was a member of 4-H, competing in Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Trail, Reining, and Horsemanship. She attended Angelo State University, where she studied Animal Sciences and continued riding.
Kristin is devoted to learning, teaching, and mentoring. She spent several years serving as a 4-H Club Leader. She also tutors students to improve their essay writing skills. For fun, she still rides her own horses: Ellie, Cindy, and Drafty, and trains her dogs in agility and obedience.
Fortunate enough to be a full-time mom, she home-schooled her daughter, Erin, going into her high school years. Her daughter, Erin "had an innate love of horses and began riding at five years old. She never looked back! I happily spend immeasurable time as a show-mom. There is just nothing like watching hours and hours of practice and seeing your child learn and succeed at something they are passionate about."
"I adore teaching beginners of all ages to become confident students of riding. I truly enjoy seeing the bright smiles that accompany fun and achievement! Riding horses teaches self-discipline, sportsmanship, perseverance, and strength of character like no other sport I've experienced."
